WEST BOYLSTON – Guido R. Caracciolo, 76, of 14 Scarlett Street, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 in UMass Memorial, Worcester.
His wife of 49 years, Ann M. (Russo) Caracciolo, died in 2001. He leaves three sons, Paul A. Caracciolo and his wife LeeAnn and Craig P. Carracciolo and his wife Colleen, all of Phillipston, and Guy R. Caracciolo of Wrentham; a daughter, Lori Ann Arnold and her husband James of Lucas, Texas; a brother, Edward Caracciolo of Bozeman, Montana; a sister, Eleanor Antonetti of Weymouth; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and a dear friend, Virginia Jacobson of Holden. A brother, Felix Caracciolo, predeceased him. He was born in Weymouth, son of Pasquale and Emilia (Giovanniello) Caracciolo, and has lived in West Boylston for 43 years. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Boston University.
Guido was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving aboard the destroyer, U.S.S. Beatty and submarines, U.S.S. Bluefish and U.S.S. Guavina, where he was awarded three battle stars. He was owner and operator of Guido's Soft Step Floor Covering Co. in West Boylston for 20 years. Previously he worked 22 years in sales for United States Gypsum in Braintree. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post 204 in West Boylston.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 4th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. The funeral for Guido will be held on Tuesday, June 5th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Guido’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 77 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
