HOLDEN - Mary Barry-Birath passed away on December 31 surrounded by her family. She was born in Worcester, MA on May 22nd, 1929, to Scott and Grace Mackintire. She resided in Worcester for most of her life, growing up with a large extended family and was the oldest granddaughter of Margaret Perry, who she admired and adored.
She devoted her early years to raising her children and maintaining her beautiful home with her husband Albert Barry. She enjoyed trips to Cape Cod, and in her later years Mary ventured to Florida to live several years with her devoted and loving husband Henry Birath.
Mary is predeceased by Henry Birath and her son-in-law Roland Jolicoeur, and siblings, Margaret Rushford, Grace Johnson, Patricia Card, Elizabeth Keefe, and John Mackintire.
She is survived by her son Michael Barry and his fiancé Sharon Lee Mulligan, her daughter Margaretellen Jolicoeur, and her son Kevin Barry and his wife Alicia.
The greatest joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughters: Meagan (Jolicoeur) Allen and her husband Kevin, Jack Barry and his wife Monica, Patrick Barry, Sean Barry, Jennifer Barry, and Keegan Barry. Her great granddaughters Rowan and Willow Allen.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, located at 1158 Main Street in Holden. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, after which a burial will take place at All Faiths Cemetery, 9 Island Road in Worcester.
