WORCESTER – Lee M. Monopoli, 42, of Lawrence Street, passed away at home on Sunday morning, October 19, 2008.
He leaves his mother, sister and nephew with whom he lived, Theresa (Salmon) DeSavage, Lisa M. Monopoli and her son Nathan Luke Monopoli; his father, Luco Monopoli of Worcester; 3 sisters, Patricia A. Lewis of Danielson, CT, Linda M. Monopoli of Worcester and Marie T. Monopoli of Winchendon; 3 brothers, John S. DeSavage of FL, John R. Monopoli of Worcester and Luke T. Monopoli of Florida; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his best friend, Jason Smitko.
Lee was born and raised in Worcester where he attended Holy Name and South High Schools and Worcester State College. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 from the Mass College of Art in Boston. He was an art exhibitor at the DeCordova Art Museum in Lincoln and the Rose Gallery at Brandeis Univ. in Waltham. Lee's passion was art and writing and he loved boating, dogs, the Red Sox and Patriots.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service for Lee will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 23rd, in the funeral home with burial following in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
