WEST BOYLSTON – Evelyn L. (Moore) Parker, 90, formerly of Maple Street, died peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2009 in Knollwood Nursing Center.
Her husband of 57 years, Harry C. Parker, died in 2000. She leaves four sons, Wayne R. Parker and his wife Sue of Webster, Dennis E. Parker and his wife Carol and Glenn A. Parker and his wife Kathleen, all of West Boylston, and D. Scott Parker and his wife Carolyn of Oakham; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. A son, Dean A. Parker, died in 1965, and a sister, Shirley Harmon, predeceased her.
Evelyn was born on May 3, 1919 in Holden, a daughter of Edward C. and Laura May (Toombs) Moore, and lived most of her life in West Boylston before moving to the Briarwood community in 2007. She graduated from the Major Edwards High School in West Boylston, class of 1939 and she was a member of the First Congregational Church of West Boylston.
A graveside service for Evelyn will at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 26th, at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 32 Church Street, West Boylston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knollwood Nursing Center Activities Fund, 87 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
