HOLDEN - Joshua Daniel Thibodeau, "Moose", 12, of Highland St., Holden died unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2011, while attending a soccer camp in Holden.
Josh was born in Worcester on May 26, 1999, the son of loving parents, Ralph and Deb (O'Brien) Thibodeau and lived most of his life in Holden. Besides his parents, Josh leaves and will be greatly missed by two brothers, Jake and Adam and two sisters, Annabelle and Amelia all at home; maternal grandparents, John and Carol (Maxwell) O'Brien of West Boylston; paternal grandparents, Wilfrid and Claire (Messier) Thibodeau of Winter Haven, FL. Josh was blessed to have many aunts and uncles, including Cindy O'Brien, Jack and Cathy O'Brien, Patty and Michael Sweeney, Kevin and Marie O'Brien, Jeanne and Don Parks, Will and Mary Thibodeau, Doris and Bill McDermott, and David and Robin Thibodeau. Josh leaves fifteen cousins. He was recently predeceased by his cousin, Christina Parks.
Josh attended Davis Hill Elementary School and was entering the seventh grade at Mountview Middle School in the fall. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. Josh was involved with many sports teams, including CRA basketball, Holden Youth Soccer, and had plans to play Mass Premier Soccer in the fall. Josh was an amazing child with a radiant smile and sparkling eyes. He was always sensitive to other's feelings and loved to practice random acts of kindness. "Moose" would love it if all practiced a random act of kindness in his memory.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service celebrating Josh's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland St., Holden. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Josh Thibodeau Memorial Scholarship, c/o W.R.S.D., 1401 Main St., Holden, MA 01520 (checks payable to W.R.S.D.); or to the Holden Fire Department's Ambulance Fund, 1384 Main St., Holden, MA 01520.
