WORCESTER - Joan E. Zaramba, 75, beloved wife of the late Philip C. Zaramba, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.
Born and raised in Holden, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Elizabeth (Chapel) Decker. After graduating from Wachusett High School, she went on to further her education at American International College where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Joan enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a social worker for the Department of Transitional Assistance in Worcester. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing, sand dollar hunting, playing tennis, and of course sharing laughs with loved ones. Recently, she took delight in attending exercise classes at the senior center with her friends.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two daughters, Lee Beaulac and her husband, Casey of Leominster and Kristin Servant and her husband, Bill of Worcester; her son, Mark Zaramba of CT and her former daughter-in-law, Kerri of NY; a brother, Joel Decker of Canada; her two sisters, Judy Crosier of NH and Jean Johnson of ME; and her six grandchildren, Ryan, Toby, Casey, Jeana, Logan, and Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
