STERLING – Svea J. (Mollberg) Pineo, 96 of Tuttle Road, died Friday, December 19, 2008 in Sterling Healthcare after an illness.
Her husband, Royal W. Pineo died in 1978. She leaves two sons, David J. Pineo and his wife Gail with whom she lived and Royal W. Pineo Jr. and his wife Louise of Sterling; six grandchildren, David Pineo Jr. and his wife Terra, Joan Pineo, Michael Pineo and his wife Amy, Richard Pineo and his wife Karen, all of Sterling, Michelle and her husband Stan Creasy of Virginia, and Jeffrey Pineo of Palmer; eight great-grandchildren, Shauna Pineo, Joshua Pineo, Allison Pineo, Erika Pineo, Julia Pineo, Nicole Pineo, Joshua and Julia Fontaine; many nephews and nieces. Svea was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
Svea was born in Worcester, the daughter of Samuel and Erika (Stenmark) Mollberg, and lived in Sterling for 67 years. She was a member of the First Church in Sterling, the Clinton and Leominster Order of the Eastern Star, the Sterling and West Boylston Seniors, and the West Sterling Community Club. Svea worked many years at the Twin Oaks Lodge, the Green Meadow Lodge and the Sterling Inn. She was also a cafeteria worker in the Sterling school system for twenty-five years.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 22nd, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Svea will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23rd, in the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church in Sterling, Memorial Fund, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
