TYNGSBOROUGH - Gregory F. Snipes, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and mother.
Born in Worcester and raised in Sterling, Gregory was the beloved son of the late Robert A. Snipes, Sr. and Sherryanne (Zalneraitis) Snipes. He was a graduate of the Corwin-Russell School at Broccoli Hall. Gregory then went on to serve his country honorably, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, as well as earning his AS in Electronics Engineering. He cherished being a part of the 355th Communication Squadron (The Shark Tank) where he made lifelong friendships.
His civilian career was in the field of computer networking, where his skills and dedication made him highly valued and respected. He believed in collaboration and was generous with his knowledge, mentoring upcoming engineers and making his contemporaries feel valued. He was proud of achieving his dream job of Technical Lead, Systems Engineering at Arista, a company he believed in fully.
Gregory is survived by his devoted wife, Nicole "Nikki" M. (Roy) Snipes of Tyngsborough; his loving mother, Sherryanne Snipes of Sterling; his brother, Robert Snipes, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Sterling; his mother-in-law, Dianne Warwick of Salisbury; and his siblings-in-law, Kate Fuller of Newburyport, Kelly Link of Boston, and Ramona Sim of Amesbury. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, Darren Snipes, Mallory Snipes, Noah Link, Penny Link, Emerson "Emz" Fuller, Jane Link, and Henry Link, as well as his constant feline companion, Snarf.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gregory's life during visiting hours on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, MA 01564. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 am, also at the funeral home. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Chocksett Inn in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions in Gregory's name be made online to the local charity, RFK Community Alliance, with funds directed to benefit the Children of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse program (COASA).
