RUTLAND – Elizabeth Anne (Ridick) Fyrberg, 67, passed away at home on Monday, April 15, 2013 after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Peter A. Fyrberg; two daughters, Marianne K. Fyrberg of Decatur, AL and Christine M. Paschal of Holden; a son, Michael P. Fyrberg and his wife Teal of Asheville, NC; a son-in-law, Walter Paschal of Holden; a sister, Joan Depue and her husband Roger of Boston, VA; a brother, Jack Ridick and his wife Terri of Evans, GA; two grandchildren, Abigail and Logan Paschal; nephews, nieces and several cousins.
Elizabeth was born in Worcester, the daughter of John A. and Anne E. (Bataitis) Ridick and had lived in Worcester before moving to Rutland in 1997. She earned Master’s Degree in Education and in Guidance & Psychology. Elizabeth was a teacher for many years in the Worcester Public School System. She retired in 2005 from Worcester Technical High School as head guidance counselor. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland, the Massachusetts Teachers Assoc., the National Education Assoc. and the Massachusetts School Counselors Assoc.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Fyrberg will be held on Friday, April 19, with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543. Please go directly to church. A private committal service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Please omit flowers.
