Rutland – Denise M. (DeLuca) Clary, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester. Born in Worcester and raised in Holden, Denise was the cherished daughter of Louis and Janina (Kowza) DeLuca.
A proud graduate of Wachusett High School, Class of 1976, Denise dedicated many years to enriching young minds as a teacher’s aide in the Wachusett School District. Her kindness and patience left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Denise found her true partner in life when she married Thomas M. Clary, and together they built a warm and loving home in Rutland.
Denise was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a keen eye for antiquing, a love for live music, and a flair for creativity that shone through in her sewing and craftsmanship. Her handmade costumes were the highlight of many local Renaissance fairs, where she proudly displayed her artistry. Those who knew her well will also fondly remember her lively karaoke performances, which brought joy and laughter to all.
Denise will be lovingly missed and remembered by her devoted husband of 36 years, Thomas M. Clary; her son, Carl Quist, and his wife, Joy, of Worcester; her daughters, Cailin McLean and her husband, Matthew, of Sterling, and Kellie Clary of Douglas; her brother, Louis DeLuca, of Westminster; her sisters, Cristine Belisle of Connecticut, and Karen Johnson and her husband, David, of Princeton; and her sister-in-law, Cathleen Fligg and her husband, Donald of Princeton She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Eliana Panopio, Alexandra Quist, and Lana McLean, along with several nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close.
Services are private and under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Within My Hands Foundation
