WEST BOYLSTON - Bruce C. Bjorklund, 57, of Howard Avenue, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Bruce was born in Worcester on July 25, 1954, the son of Henry A. and M. Beverly (Parker) Bjorklund and was a lifetime resident of West Boylston.
Bruce graduated from West Boylston High School and worked over 30 years as an auto mechanic for Benson and Wood, Inc. in Worcester. He was married October 11, 1980 to the love of his life and best friend, Pamela J. White. Together Bruce and Pam raised their two sons in same house Bruce was raised and his father built. Bruce was truly a “family man” and enjoyed being involved in his son’s activities. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America, was a former Cub Scouts leader and Assistant Boy Scouts leader with Troop 151 in West Boylston. He was proud that both his sons received the Eagle Scout Award. Bruce enjoyed trips to Acadia National Park with family and friends, and outdoor activities including kayaking and working in his yard.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Pamela J. (White) Bjorklund; his two sons, Kevin A. Bjorklund and his wife Cara of West Boylston and Brian M. Bjorklund and his wife Christine of Holden; three brothers, David F. Bjorklund and his wife Barbara of Jupiter, Florida, Richard H. Bjorklund and his wife Diane of Joplin, Missouri and Bruce’s twin, Stephen R. Bjorklund and his wife Catherine of West Boylston; a sister, Lynne Doldoorian and her husband John of Whitinsville; two grandchildren, Hannah and Kyle; and many nephews and nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral service celebrating Bruce’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, at the First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central Street, West Boylston. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Church Street, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Boylston Boy Scouts Troop 151, 52 Campground Road, West Boylston, MA 01583.
