Rachel M. (Robinson) Bradley

November 15, 1944 — March 5, 2024

HOLDEN – Rachel M. (Robinson) Bradley died on March 5th, 2024 at age 79, after a long and heroic battle with End-stage Renal Disease and Dialysis. She was born in Marlboro to Robert and Germaine (Mailhoit) Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years John (Jere) Bradley, her son Sean P. Bradley and daughter-in-law Leah of North Brookfield, her brother Richard Robinson and wife Sheila of Marlboro, several cousins and nieces. Her sister Susan Crawley pre-deceased her several years ago.

Rachel attended schools in Marlboro, including Saint Ann’s Academy. After graduation she held many jobs throughout her years and finally retired in 2011. She was an avid reader of all types of books, especially mysteries which she tried to figure out before the end of the book. She was an active member of St. George Church in Worcester, a Eucharistic Minister and participant in many committees. She was a 3rd Order Franciscan since 1982.

She was fortunate to travel with her husband while he was on active military duty and lived in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Germany and Texas before moving back to Holden in 1979. She loved volunteer work and was actively involved in many projects including the Wachusett Greenways and the Mary Garden at St. George Church. She loved the outdoors, camping kayaking and walking the Wachusett Greenways rail trails and playing any kind of card games.

She was a confidant to many numerous friends, giving words of wisdom to comfort them. Throughout her years of struggle with health issues she always maintained a positive outlook and always said “my illness is not who I am” and it did not hold her back from living the best life she could. She always put forth a positive and supportive attitude to all she communicated with.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. Through the years the family extends great gratitude to all the staff at UMASS University Hospital, Fairlawn Rehab Hospital and Barre Family Health Center who treated her so well.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Miles Funeral Home in Holden. There will be no calling hours at her personal request. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester on Friday, March 15th at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton for family and close friends following the Mass.

Her wish was for no flowers, but if you wish you can make a memorial contribution in her name to Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602, or to Barre Family Health Center, 151 Worcester Road, Barre, MA 01005.
