Richard A. Renshaw

RUTLAND - Richard A. Renshaw, 78, of Rutland passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife Mary J. (Lebel) Renshaw who he married September 24, 1955 in Bath, Maine. He also leaves three sons, Richard B. Renshaw of Brookfield, Michael J. Renshaw and his wife Lisa and Gregory L. Renshaw, all of Rutland; four grandchildren, Ashley (Renshaw) Patterson and her husband Todd, Mitchell Renshaw, Lindsey Renshaw and Jaclyn Renshaw, all from Rutland; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Savannah Patterson of Rutland and Hayden Marie Renshaw of Sturbridge.

Richard was the son of Richard F. Renshaw and Angelina M. (Burgess) Renshaw and was born in Boston. He was the brother of Elaine Parady of Groveland and John Renshaw of Peabody. Richard had a younger sister, Mary, who died at age ten. Richard is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ernestine Moison of Bath, ME as well as his sister-in-law, Janice Hanson and her husband Gerald of Wiscassett, ME, and his brother-in-law, Ernest Lebel and his wife Nancy of Popham Beach, Maine

Richard graduated from Morse High School in Bath, Maine in 1950 and attended Portland Junior College. He retired from General Electric in Fitchburg where he was a Senior Buyer. He is a U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean conflict.
At Richard's request, there are no calling hours or services. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
