West Boylston/Holden – Trudy J. (Landquist) Smith, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus, Worcester, surrounded by her immediate family. Born in Worcester and raised in Holden, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Gladys C. (Berglund) Landquist.

Trudy graduated from Wachusett High School with the class of 1968. She was a dedicated mail carrier for the United States Post Office in Boylston for many years. Trudy also worked as a waitress and bartender at several local restaurants, including Vinny’s and The Other Place Pub. She had a passion for crafts, especially seasonal decorations, and showcased her work at local craft fairs and stores. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden, where she leaves many dear friends. Above all, Trudy cherished her family and adored her grandchildren.

Trudy will be lovingly missed and remembered by her sons, Philip Chila and his wife Sara Nehrir-Chila of Littleton, Mark Chila of San Francisco, and Ross Chila and his wife Carisa of West Boylston; her brothers, Craig W. Landquist of Holden and Gary P. Landquist and his wife Dianne of Rutland; her sister, Wendy Fiffy and her husband John of Leesburg, FL; her grandchildren, McKenzie, Aria, Zoe, and Sophie Chila and Cecilia Fournier; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring and celebrating Trudy’s life at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden. Burial will be private at All Faith’s Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's own choosing.
