HOLDEN – Richard W. Knight, 72, died peacefully at his home in Holden on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Richard was born in Worcester, the son of Roland F. and Anna T. (Mientkiewicz) Knight and moved to Holden with his family as a young child.
He is survived by his son, Scott Kohlstrom of Brookfield; two granddaughters, Kristine and Kathleen Kohlstrom of Brookfield; his cousin, Allan Knight and his wife, Nancy of Shrewsbury; as well as many dear friends and neighbors. Richard graduated from Wachusett High School and went on to work as a draftsman for Dienes Corporation in Spencer for over 25 years. He enjoyed coin collecting and muscle cars. Richard had a passion for genealogy. He loved delving into his family's history and travelling to new places to find his roots. Richard was also known for his giving spirit as he gave generously to several charities.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 26th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 27th at 11 am. Burial will be private at a later date.
