PAXTON - Doris Mildred (Galbraith) Hart, 80, died peacefully with her children beside her on Friday, September 21, 2007.
Family was always an important part of Doris’ life. She is survived by her six children, Donald Hart of NH, Harry Hart of Holden, Carol Quillen and husband Larry of CA, Mary Tuttle and husband Robert of Holden, Dory Huard and husband Richard of Paxton and David Hart and Andrea of Sterling. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jessica, Eli, Shawn, Erika, Rory, Timmy, Megan, Deidre, Allison, Daniel and Holly; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Wartman and husband Ray and step-sisters, Jacqueline Hyman and Patricia Duke. Two siblings predeceased her, brother, Harold Galbraith and step-brother, John Coskey.
Doris was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and kept busy attending the numerous plays, concerts, dance recitals and sports games that her grandchildren were involved in. She also loved spending time with her friends. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and sang in its choir for many years.
Doris was a graduate of Little Flower Academy in Philadelphia. She retired from Sprague Electric in Worcester after many years of service. In her retirement, she enjoyed working at many places including Linkmark, Chocolate Smith and Farrar Press.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 24th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Doris will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, 251 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472; the Paxton Council on Aging, 17 West Street, Paxton, MA 01612; or the Arthritis Foundation, Massachusetts Chapter, 29 Crafts Street, Newton, MA 02160.
