Margaret A. (O'Melia) Eident

PAXTON- Margaret A. (O'Melia) Eident, 82, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 6, 2016. She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Anne C. (Phillips) and Edward F. O'Melia living there until she married and moved to Paxton for 53 years. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Francis P. Eident, in 2000. She is survived by her sons, Robert F. Eident of Worcester and Michael A. Eident and his wife, Gina Tutela of Holden; daughters, Jane Dodds and her husband, Thomas of Barre and Anne Marie Krasnecky and her husband, Paul of Ware; six grandchildren, Meghann A. Eident, Ryan P. and Joshua F. Krasnecky, Kaitlyn Holt, Matthew "Max" Tutela and Cali Rose Eident Tutela. After graduating from St. Peter's High School, she attended and graduated, summa cum laude from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA with a bachelor's degree in English. After graduating, Margaret became an ardent educator within the Worcester school for over four decades. Peggy was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Columba Church in Paxton, where she sang in the choir and taught C.C.D. for 47 years. In addition to writing and publishing a children's religious book in 2003, she was a member of the Music Guild of Worcester, the Paxton Women's Guild, as well as an active volunteer with the literacy program at Worcester Catholic Charities. Peggy was passionate about classical music, especially Mozart, as well as being a gifted musician herself. For all and any who knew her, she will be remembered for her uncanny ability to summarize and salute events or people, who were dear to her heart, through her descriptive poetry. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. Holden, and again on the morning of Thursday, November 10, leaving in procession for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave. Paxton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton, MA. 01612.
