Joyce E. (Eames) Wylie

Paxton/Leicester – Joyce E. (Eames) Wylie, 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Myron T. and Dorothy H. (Kerr) Eames, and had graduated from Leicester High School.

Joyce will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of 70 years, Bruce K. Wylie; her son, Douglas B. Wylie and his wife, Cheryl of Royalston; her granddaughters, Jessica McCaffrey and her husband, Philip of Rutland, and Heather Wylie of Rutland; her great-granddaughter, Molly Joy; her sister, Marilyn Larner of Rhode Island; her step-grandsons, Brad Myntti and his wife, Nikki of Hardwick and Kirk Myntti; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joyce and Bruce were married in 1952 and settled in Leicester. Joyce was a member of the Leicester Federated Church where she was proud to serve as the first female Church Treasurer. She and Bruce later moved to Paxton where they have remained for the last 44 years. For 25 years Joyce served as Manager at the office of Dr. William Richardson in Worcester. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was an outspoken lover of dogs and other animals. Joyce also loved to travel. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and was overjoyed to meet her great-granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Joyce’s family from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O.
