PAXTON- John "Jack" F. Sullivan, Jr. 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at UMass Memorial Healthcare. Jack was a resident of The Villages in Florida for over 20 years before moving to Paxton Massachusetts in 2021.
Jack was born and raised in Malden, Massachusetts. He was the loving son of the late John F. and Winifred E. (Frizzell) Sullivan. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Gloria J. (Hamel) Sullivan; his children Robin M. Merlo and her husband, Stephen of Worcester, MA, and David Cormier and his wife, Janet Cormier of Chester NH; six grandchildren, Tara Sherblom and her husband, Christopher, Mathew Cormier and his wife, Netanya, Adam Merlo and his wife, Jessica, Alex Merlo and his husband, Eric, Kiana and Kyle Cormier; 10 great-grandchildren; Arianna, Bardot, Mackenzie, Lia, Jace, Logan, Ava, Presley, Mason and Julian; his sisters-in-law, June Watkins and Donna Boland as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a graduate of Malden High School and continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1961-1963. Jack then went on to dedicate over 15 years of his life to Digital Equipment corp before he retired to enjoy traveling with his wife and friends.
Throughout his life, Jack took great pride in his home and yard. He enjoyed photography, experimenting with brewing his own beer and he was always up for a game of golf! Above all else, he enjoyed, he treasured moments spent with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Jack's family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, March 25, at St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care, 67 Millbrook St., 500 North, Worcester, MA 01606.
