RUTLAND – Herbert H. Harris, 52, of Las Vegas, NV, formally of Glenwood Rd., Rutland, died Thursday, April 19th in Las Vegas after a long illness.
He leaves his partner, Darren S. Parker of Las Vegas; two brothers, Robert E. Harris, Jr. and his wife Jenny of Oxford and Timothy A. Harris and his wife Kelley of Jefferson; three sisters, Florence Dubay and her husband Joseph of Fairfield, ME, Melissa Suazo and her husband Gil of Las Vegas, and Justine Winkleman and her husband Jim of Boston; his mother, Nancy Giangrande of Las Vegas; his step mother, Marilyn Harris of Yarmouth; and aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, step-brothers, and step-sisters.
He was born in Holden, the son of the late Robert E. Harris and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1972. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education and Business Management from Worcester State College in 1976. He was a Special Education teacher in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. He enjoyed traveling, music, and restoring cars.
A memorial service for Herbert will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 264 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. There are no calling hours. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is assisting the family with arrangements.
