WORCESTER – Gloria M. (Kohlstrom) Valiquette, lovingly known as “Glo”, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 79. She was born and raised in Holden, the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Maxfield) Kohlstrom and had lived most of her life in Worcester.
Gloria leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Wilbert H. (Bill) Valiquette; three children, Lynn A. Reardon of Worcester and her companion, David Berthiaume, Richard J. Valiquette and his wife, Lisa of North Oxford and Sharon S. McDonald and her husband, Andrew of Marlborough. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, Daniel, Kate, Kelsey, Adam, Kevin, Emily and Charlie, and great-grandmother of Braden, Chloe, Callie, Flynn Jayden and Makai. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Barrows; two brothers, Rudy and Bobby Kohlstrom; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Kenneth, and John Kohlstrom and a sister, Kay Kendrick.
Gloria was formerly employed at the UMass Memorial Medical Center, New England Power Company, and the New England Science Center (Ecotarium). She was an avid gardener who loved the outdoors and had a passion for politics. Gloria will be remembered happiest when she was at her home-away-from home in Wells, Maine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be held at a later date at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
