HOLDEN – Gertrude A. (Benoit) Henry, 86, of River Street, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, June 9, 2011.
She leaves her husband of 18 years, Russell R. Henry; her children, Steven A. Massey of Hong Kong, Mark P. Massey of Worcester, Earl T. Massey of Holden, F. Timothy Hickey and Brian J. Hickey, both of Jefferson, Terrance Hickey of Yarmouth, ME, Dennis E. Hickey of Portland, OR, Russell R. Henry II of New York, Lynn A. Duval of Belfast, ME, Joyce M. Kalvinek of Millbury, Lillian E. Farley of Troy, MI, Louise A. Terrien of Athol, Maureen E. Hickey of Starks, ME and Donna M. Drisco of Charlton; her twin sister, Doris M. Rogan of Auburn and her sister, Rita A. Mullen-Cerrone of Rutland; her devoted aunt, Mary F. Millett of Worcester; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred H. Massey, her second husband, Francis A. Hickey and a son, Patrick F. Hickey.
Gertrude was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Ernest and Jennie (O'Connell) Benoit, and has lived in Holden since 1998. She was a graduate of South High School and the Worcester School of Business. She was a payroll clerk at Norton Company for 10 years, retiring in 1989, and a member of St. Mary's Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
