HOLDEN – Francis “Frank” P. Carlin, 66, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph and Mary (Comer) Carlin and lived most of his life in Holden.
He leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara A. (Becker) Carlin; two sons, Glenn P. Carlin of Worcester and Brian A. Carlin of Rutland; a daughter, Colleen M. Lafleche of Worcester; a brother, Robert Carlin of Florida; a sister, Mary Couture of Connecticut; two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Lindsey “who affectionately called him Buddy”; and several nephews and nieces.
Francis graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1963 and later served in the Army reserves. He owned and operated Quality Dental Lab in Worcester for 41 years before retiring this year. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and the Leicester Knights of Columbus Council 4528. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He loved to spend time with family and friends especially his granddaughters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Funeral services for Mr. Carlin will be held on Wednesday, October 10, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Memorial Contributions, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
