David M. Lux

October 8, 1951 — October 21, 2024

Ellington, CT/Holden - David M. Lux, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the beloved son of the late Teddy M. and Violet (Nanof) Lux. A graduate of Worcester Boy's Trade School, Class of 1968, David was a man of many talents and a life defined by service and dedication.

After high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served at EUCOM Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Following his military service, he embarked on a career in healthcare, working for many years as a phlebotomist and autotransfusion technician with the American Red Cross. It was during his time at UMass Medical Center in Worcester that he met the love of his life, Sally. The two were married and shared many happy years together, residing in Holden before relocating to Ellington, CT, in 2013.

Later in life, David pursued a new passion-turning his talent for solving puzzles and assembling furniture into a small business known as "The Assemblyman Co." His work brought joy and relief to countless customers who appreciated his skill and patience. However, above all else, David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose warmth and love will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sally I. (Karle) Lux; his son, Brian Lux and his wife, Katharine, of Holden; his daughter, Phaedra Wise, of Springfield; and his step-son, Joseph Adkins and his wife, Rebecca, of Paxton. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Stephanie Gertz and her husband, Roger, of Whitinsville, and Shirley [surname] of [location]; and his adored grandchildren, Emma, Brittany, and Alexis Wise, Alexander and Helena Adkins, and Christopher and Emilia Lux. David is also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Linda Lux and Nancy Lux.

In honoring David's wishes, funeral services will be private and are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
