WORCESTER – David Friedman, age 92, died at the Jewish Healthcare Center on Saturday, October 1st.
His wife, Sylvia (Berman) Friedman died in 1999. He leaves a son, Philip Friedman and his wife, Cathy of Paxton; two daughters, Karen, wife of Thomas Dowd of Holden and Beth Davis of Worcester; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Friedberg and by his brother Leonard Friedman.
He was born in Worcester and was a son of Morris D. and Clara (Gendol) Friedman and was a lifelong resident.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 3rd Army Combat Engineers. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He graduated Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College. He was a lifelong member of Temple Emanuel, the Jewish War Veterans Irving Yarock Post #32, the Disabled American Veterans Post, the Jewish Healthcare Center and was a life member of the YMCA. For a period of 20 years he consistently was a blood donor to the American Red Cross.
A PRIVATE GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICE WAS HELD YESTERDAY AT B’NAI BRITH CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.
Memorial Observance will be private.
