HOLDEN – Ann D. Harrington, 78, formerly of 969 Main Street, Holden, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in Marlboro Hills Healthcare Center, Marlboro, after an illness.
She leaves her sister, Mary J. Gardner and her husband Allan of Holden; and many nephews and nieces. Five brothers, Edward, Jr., Henry, James, Joseph, and Gary Harrington and a sister, Jeannette (Harrington) Carlson, predeceased her. She was born in Holden, the daughter of Edward D. and Alice J. (Beeso) Harrington and was a life-long resident of Holden.
Ann graduated from Holden High School, Arnold College in Milford, Connecticut in 1952, and earned her Master's degree in Education in 1959 from Boston University. She was a Physical Education Teacher at Millbury High School for 38 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Holden, an avid golfer and member of Holden Hills Country Club.
A funeral Mass for Ann will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30th, in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Mary's Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
