Bryan T. Mello, 59, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. He was the beloved husband of Paula (Begley) Mello.
Born in Cambridge and raised in Berlin, MA, he was a son of the late Emmanuel and Diane (Buckley) Mello. Bryan graduated from Tahanto Regional High School and went on to further his education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he graduated summa cum laude, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. After residing in Atkinson, NH for several years, where he and Paula owned a successful event planning business and was a very active member of St. Monica Parish, Methuen, MA, they sold their business, and settled in Princeton where together they raised their three daughters. Bryan’s pride and joy was becoming a stay-at-home dad, where he was known as the “Soccer Dad, Car Pool Guy, and chaperone for every possible school event.” Michaela, Breanna, and Eliana have many happy memories and stories of his funny antics such as Bryan convincing the girls that he was a retired spy or when he used his signature call of “cuckoo” in the middle of the store to locate his children.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of almost 33 years, Paula; their three daughters, Breanna, Michaela, and Eliana Mello, all of Princeton; his mother, Diane Mello of Holden; two brothers, Emmanuel Mello of Jefferson and William Mello and his wife, Kathleen of Sterling; two sisters, Janice Brunelle and her husband, John of Holden and Diane Dodge of West Newbury; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful furry companion, Denver. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Angelica.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Tuesday, September 27 from
4 to 7 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28 at Prince of Peace Parish, 1 Worcester Road, Princeton. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his two favorite charities
