HOLDEN – Bertil I. Larson, 91, of 22 Laurel Hill Lane, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester.
His wife of 63 years, Margaret A. (Stromberg) Larson, died on January 10th. He leaves his daughter, Linda V. Kasavich and her husband Richard of Holden; and two sisters-in-law, Marion Anderson of Monument Beach and Eleanor Goodhue of Shrewsbury. A sister, Inga Larson Fowler, predeceased him. He was born in Varmland, Sweden, son of John and Annie (Hedstrom) Larson, and has lived in Holden for 42 years. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade.
Mr. Larson worked for Morgan Construction Company in Worcester for over 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Morningstar Lodge of Masons, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Valley of Worcester. He was also a member of the Worcester County Shrine Club, the Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington, the Quinsigamond Lodge #517 of the VASA Order of America, Epworth United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer.
The funeral service for Mr. Larson will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester. Calling hours are from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Burns Institute, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
