Miles Funeral Homes are full service, locally owned funeral homes located in Holden and Sterling, Massachusetts. We have been servicing families from the Wachusett Region, Worcester, and numerous towns within Worcester County for over 100 years (see History).

The intent of our website is to inform. We too, are responding to today's trend to be on-line in this ever changing world. It is our hope that you find this information useful and informative.

Miles Funeral Home is owned and operated by Richard S. Mansfield, a resident of Holden; with Funeral Director, Timothy S. McNeaney, and support staff of Robin G. McGuirk and Beverly S. Mansfield.

Miles Funeral Home has been a member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes (or NSM) for over 50 years! Membership in the association is by invitation only and is available exclusively to those independently owned funeral homes that practice the highest ethical standards of professional service and community leadership.

Miles Funeral Home is the only funeral home in the area to have met and continues to meet these standards to which members are dedicated. Our responsibilities to each family we serve keeps with the NSM's nationally known and recognized Code of Good Funeral Practice:

As Funeral Directors, our calling imposes upon us special responsibilities to those we serve and to the public at large. Chief amoung them is the obligation to inform the public so that everyone can make knowledgeable decisions about funerals.

We pledge:
  1. To provide the public with information about funerals, including prices, and about the functions, services and responsibilites of funeral directors.
  2. To afford a continuing opportunity to all persons to discuss or arrange funerals in advance.
  3. To make funerals available in as wide range of price categories as necessary to meet the need of all segments of the community.
  4. To quote in writing the charges for every funeral.
  5. To furnish to each family, at the time funeral arrangements are made, a written memorandum of charges.
  6. To make no representation, written or oral, which may be false or misleading, and to apply a standard of total honesty in all dealings.
  7. To respect all faiths, creeds and customs, and to give full effect to the role of the clergy.
  8. To maintain a qualified and competent staff, complete facilities and suitable equipment required for comprehensive funeral service.
  9. To assure those we serve the right of personal choice and decision in making funeral arrangements.
  10. To be responsive to the needs of the poor, serving them within their means.
  11. To comply fully with the requirements of the FTC Trade Regulation Rule on funeral practices.

    We pledge to conduct ourselves in every way and at all times in such a manner as to deserve the public trust, and to place a copy of this Code of Good Funeral Practice in the possession of all families with whom we arrange funerals.
